Arts & Culture

South Lake Tahoe’s arts and culture are as vibrant as our outdoors. From Native American arts to unique shopping experiences and casinos—there's an attraction for everyone to enjoy.

Vikingsholm

The sprawling Vikingsholm is one of Lake Tahoe’s most recognizable landmarks. Located on 162 shoreside acres in Emerald Bay State Park, this 38-room mansion was built in a Scandinavian architectural style and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Vikingsholm is open for tours during the summer.

Casino Vibes

From Harrah’s to Hard Rock to Harvey’s—there are no shortages of places to pull that slot machine lever. South Lake Tahoe boasts some of the best world-class casinos, without the “Vegas” glitzy feel. There are over a dozen casinos to choose from in the area, minutes from our hotel. Release these inhibitions and let your freak flag fly: gaming, food, betting, and performances await!

Shop 'Til You Drop

South Tahoe boasts some of the best boutiques in the state. From local artisans to your designer staples, there is something for everyone. Some of our favorite local shops include:

Wildwood Makers Market for independent, local gifts, art, and crafts. Sierra Book Shop to support a small book store, with all of the latest reads and older finds. Village Toys, for unique kids gifts and games for everyone in the family.

For the more modern shopper, we love Malena Boutique for designer duds, Gaia-Licious for esoteric worldly gifts and garments, and Sidestreet Boutique for name brand threads like UGG and Tommy Bahama.
